Arsenal have always been at the forefront of English football on and off the field.
Through legendary boss Herbert Chapman's innovations in the 1930s - from shirt numbers to floodlights, substitutes to state of the art stadia.
The Gunners have also led the way in women's football with Vic Akers Arsenal Ladies leading the way decades before other top flight clubs had even considered funding a women's section.
And did you know that the club was the first in the country to install a sensory room back in 2017.
What Is a Sensory Room?
A sensory room is a specially designed room which combines a range of stimuli to help individuals develop and engage their senses.
These can include lights, colours, sounds, sensory soft play resources and aromas, all used within a safe environment that allows the person using it to explore and interact without risk.
There are many benefits of a sensory room for those who have learning difficulties, developmental disabilities or sensory processing impairments, helping them learn to interact with the world around them in a safe environment that builds up their confidence and their ability.
The user gets an unrestrained, non-threatening space where they can explore at their own leisure, and this freedom lets their teacher, therapist or carer see what calms them, rouses them and what they do or don’t like.
The Gunners said: "Arsenal are passionate about improving stadium facilities and making attending the stadium an inclusive experience for those with access requirements.
"The opening of our Sensory Room in September 2017 has supported many fans with sensory processing issues to attend matches at Emirates Stadium in a safe and secure environment."
The acclaimed facility at the Emirates incorporates a match viewing room that offers a full, unrestricted view of the pitch behind soundproof glass, creating a safe and controlled environment to watch the game, there is also a separate Sensory space with a range of specialist equipment to assist those attending the room.
The Sensory Room is available for fixtures at Emirates Stadium, subject to availability.
