Five of Arsenal Women’s eleven Women’s Super League home games will take place at Emirates Stadium this coming season, and the Gunners have confirmed who they will come up against in N5.
Arsenal will kick off their 2023/24 season at the Emirates against Liverpool, who shocked Chelsea on the opening day of last season with a 2-1 comeback win against the champions. The game will kick off at 2pm on Sunday October 1.
Exactly two weeks later, Arsenal will welcome Aston Villa and Gunners legend Jordan Nobbs to the Emirates, as well as the recently departed Anna Patten. Villa beat Arsenal to close out a superb campaign under Carla Ward last year and will look to further close the gap on European football this time around.
The next visitors to the Emirates will be Chelsea, a fixture that drew 46,811 supporters back in January, with Sam Kerr equalising late on after Kim Little’s penalty. The Blues travel to North London rather than Borehamwood for the third year in a row, on Sunday December 10, and the reverse fixture will take place at Stamford Bridge rather than Kingsmeadow.
Another game that drew over 40,000 spectators last season was Arsenal’s late defeat to Manchester United, with a certain Alessia Russo scoring a late winner for Marc Skinner’s side. Arsenal host United at the Emirates on Sunday February 18.
The final league game at the 60,000 capacity stadium will see the North London Derby return to the Emirates on Sunday March 3, a game that last season set the record for the highest WSL attendance.
All fixtures are subject to change, with the exception of the Liverpool match, of which the date and time is confirmed. Tickets for the Liverpool fixture will go on sale on August 3.
