The Emirates Stadium has been confirmed to host the North London Derby between Arsenal Women and Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, September 25. This will be the first of three Women’s Super League fixtures to take place at the 60,000 seater ground in the 2022/34 season, with games against Manchester United and WSL champions Chelsea following suit.
Manager Jonas Eidevall will relish the prospect of his side playing at the Emirates again, and believes that “The North London Derby is a fixture that belongs at Emirates Stadium, so we’re delighted to be able to confirm the match will be played there once again this season.
He continued, “The support we had from the fans at the Emirates last season was incredible and we’ve seen during the Euros how much demand there is to watch the biggest games at the best venues. I can’t wait to get back out there in front of the Arsenal supporters.”
Arsenal must progress through Round 2 of Champions League qualifying to reach the group stage of the competition, with all home group stage fixtures also set to be played at the Emirates rather than Meadow Park if the club do qualify.
