It’s with a heavy heart that Arsenal legend Jordan Nobbs has left the club in a permanent transfer to Aston Villa.
The 30-year-old midfielder announced in an open letter to Arsenal fans that she would be leaving the club after 12 glorious years in red and white.
It’s no argument that Nobbs will go down as an Arsenal legend, making 270 appearances for the club and scoring 81 goals as Arsenal’s number eight for so many years.
The midfielder won three Women’s Super League titles and four FA Cups for Arsenal and described leaving Arsenal as ‘the hardest thing she’s ever had to do’.
“It’s everything I’ve known for the past 12 years and now I’m having to say goodbye. I know it’s not really goodbye, but this part of my life is over now and it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do."
She said a huge thankyou to the fans, who she expressed had played a key role to her life at Arsenal being so sweet.
“To you, the fans, you honestly mean everything to me. You’ve all been such a key part of my life and I’ve wanted to go around and say thank you to each and every one of you because it’s a family here and we’re all part of the ups and downs together.
I will always love this football club.”
Everyone wishes our number eight the best in the next step of her career, as she signs for Aston Villa, a truly irreplaceable figure at Arsenal.
