As we detail in our new print version (issue 297) which will hit the streets for the Newcastle game at the Emirates on January 3, 2023, times are tough at the moment and we are being squeezed with considerable spikes in printing, publishing and postage costs as part of wider problems stemming from the cost of living crisis.

To that end, we’ve had to cut the number of pages in print for the foreseeable future in order that we survive through the winter and reach issue 300 in May.

The Gooner Fanzine remains outstanding value at 8p a day packed with outstanding Arsenal writing by outstanding Arsenal writers – which means our jam-packed Digital Issue is more than double the size of our new print issue.

And don’t forget if you buy our Digital Issue you get all our back catalogue dating back to issue 206. We plan to get every single edition on that platform at some stage, it’s just finding the time to do it – but by purchasing our Digital Issue you can access nearly 100 issues on top of the current one. We can’t say fairer than that.

We’ve got plenty of extra Digital content from Charles Watts and Jeorge Bird – along with pages and pages of bonus copy from Highbury Spy, Mickey Cannon, David Fensome and Steve Pye. Peter Le Beau’s Rewind column will also have an extra page in our Digital Issue.

We’re also featuring Rosie Tudball in our Digital Issue and extra content from Highbury Librarian. Not to mention a bonus column called The View From Down Under by Tony Kokkinos which doesn’t feature in our print issue.

We also have Annabel Rackham, Freddie Cardy, Clock End Italia, Simon Rose, Charlie Ashmore, Ian Jenkinson, Jon Moule, Ian Mills and Kevin Whitcher’s tribute to the late Bernard Dowling.

We feature Richard Smith and Drew Smith from AISA, as well as the latest from Dial Square, as well as songmeister in chief Ben Bennett and Mike Hennessey on Martin Hayes.

Not to mention Layth’s Take extra, a bumper Talking Reds, a special Europa League feature from our editor as well as his hard-hitting comment on a tainted World Cup and his 2022-23 season awards (so far).

All that and the brilliant Charlie Shanks artwork adorning our front cover – we can’t say fairer than that!
