And so it came to pass 115FC beat the Lily-Livered Lilywhites at the Lane to all but confirm where the title will end up this season.

Of course, we'll be hoping the rudderless Eastenders can get their act together at the Etihad this Sunday (but who actually believes they can, really?)

Are we downbeat? Yes, a little is the honest answer.

Yet we've already made our peace with not winning the title and actually feel more proud than anything.

We're Proud of You

Proud that Mikel Arteta has assembled such a young, talented, hungry, exciting, likeable group of footballers who have thrilled us with such vibrant, attacking flair.

Which, allied with an obdurate backline who take as much joy from a clean sheet as scoring a goal - means to those of us brought up under George Graham pleases us immensely.

We're also proud that our club has shown progress from this time last year.

With the expectation that season 2024-25 will continue our upward trajectory, hopefully all the way to the silverware we all covet.

115FC

Let's face it, once the Premier League finally (finally!) get round to dealing with those 115 charges, will City be able to compete next season?

Meaning if the powers-that-be do show enough gumption to replicate their dealings with Forest and Everton (who faced a fraction of the charges) then a large points deduction has to be one of the options - along with possible relegation - if found guilty.

And if so, where does that leave challengers to the title next season?

Surely the above sanctions would rule City out.

All of which also means surely a Klopp-less Liverpool will be in transition, ditto miserable Manchester United and chaotic Chelsea, while Newcastle and Villa (despite Unai's two damaging wins over us) won't be at our level across 38 league games.

Which leaves who? That lot from N17 - you must be joking.

All of which means we can look towards next season with a large amount of excitement, anticipation, and yes pride.

We're Proud of You, Arsenal

Pride is also the theme that runs through our final Gooner of the season - with our top quality writers focussing on timeless themes that won't date, despite the way this week has panned out - meaning you can read this issue all summer long with our humble labour of love still feeling fresh and relevant.
