Arsenal are monitoring an 18-year-old right-back who has been making waves in Spain.
Real Valladolid's Ivan Fresneda has been attracting attention this season thanks to the quality of his displays for the La Liga side that hail from north-west Spain.
The club managed to hang onto starlet Fresneda during the January transfer window, which could lead to a transfer tussle between a host of European clubs, with Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Newcastle United and Mikel Arteta's Premier League table toppers understood to be interested.
The Madrid-born right-back whose arrival over the summer would certainly boslter Arteta's squad for the 2023-24 Champions League, has a clause in his contract that allows him to speak with other clubs once he makes 22 apearances.
With Fesneda currently on 15 appearances - 13 in La Liga and two in the Copa del Ray - the Valladolid heirachy are in two minds as to whether to continue to field their teen talent.
With Arsenal announcing Takehiro Tomiyasu has had surgery on the injury he picked up during the club's Europa League loss to Sporting Lisbon last week, the Gunners need quality back-up over the long-term - with Fresneda fitting the bill.
