Arsenal Women’s 4-0 win over Reading on Sunday evening completed a fantastic week for the Gunners, who won back to back WSL games after beating Chelsea in the Conti Cup final to seal their first silverware since 2019.

The return to form could not have come at a better time for Jonas Eidevall’s side, who take on Bayern Munich in the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter finals up next, with the first leg taking place at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday 21st March.

Before the Emirates Stadium hosts the second leg, the Gunners have the small matter of a North London Derby against Tottenham at Brisbane Road. Spurs will be under new management after they parted ways with Rehanne Skinner on Monday night.

After the second leg Arsenal host Manchester City at Meadow Park in a significant game for deciding which sides will complete the top three positions in the WSL for a place in next season’s Champions League. It is still too early to completely put a cross through Arsenal's title hopes at the time of writing too.

Speaking after the win against Reading, Jonas Eidevall looked forward to time for some more training sessions with his side, who aren’t in WSL action this weekend. “I think it’s a nice opportunity for us to get some training in”.

“We are not spoiled with those opportunities, so we are going to try and make the most of them to prepare the team not only for Bayern Munich, also for Tottenham and for Manchester City and the way that we want to play our game”.

“We’re going to work on that and hopefully that will give us fresh legs, fresh minds and we’ll be attacking the UEFA Champions League quarter final”.

Arsenal were knocked out by German opposition in last season's quarter-finals, losing away to Wolfsburg after a 1-1 draw at the first leg at the Emirates. Bayern are currently two points behind Wolfsburg, who are top of the Frauen Bundesliga.
