Arsenal goalkeeper Kaylan Marckese has completed a season-long loan to Bristol City.
Marckese joined the Gunners from Danish side HB Koge in July 2022 after impressing against Arsenal in the 2021/22 UEFA Women’s Champions League, but has played just twice for the club since her move.
The signing of established Canadian shot-stopper Sabrina D’Angelo in January pushed Marckese further down the pecking order at Arsenal, and the 25 year old will now challenge Fran Bentley for the number one spot at Ashton Gate.
Bristol City finished a point clear of Birmingham City in last season’s FA Women’s Championship to earn promotion back to the WSL after two seasons in the second tier.
In a statement, Arsenal said “We wish Kaylan all the best with Bristol City this coming campaign and look forward to watching her continued development”. Bristol kick off their WSL campaign on Sunday October 1 against Leicester City at home, and are set to play every home game at Ashton Gate.
