Arsenal were held to a draw at Anfield as Liverpool pulled back from going 2-0 down in the first half to gain a point with the match ending 2-2.

It was a sublime first half-hour of football from Arsenal, who looked to be cruising before Mohamed Salah grabbed one back for the hosts.

Arsenal looked nervous from then on, allowing Liverpool to apply the pressure before Roberto Firmino cursed the Gunners again with a late equaliser.

Here are our player ratings from the eventful game of football.

Ramsdale: 9 - Superb performance, won Arsenal the point in the dying moments with a succession of fantastic saves.

White: 6.5 - Not as influencial as always going forward but defended strongly against Liverpool's threat.

Gabriel: 6.5 - Reliable for the most part but just lost sight of Salah for a second in the Egyptian's first half goal.

Holding: 6 - Conceded the penalty but was strong for the majority.

Zinchenko: 6.5 - Strong going forward but lacked defensively in the second half, was partly at fault for Liverpool's equaliser.

Partey: 7 - Strong in a heated midfield, confident and consise on the ball.

Odegaard: 6.5 - Lacked his usual influence but kept the tempo in transition.

Xhaka: 6 - Superb first half, let his emotions get the better of him just before Salah's goal that roused the crowd.

Martinelli: 8.5 - Got his goal and an assist, was constantly a threat going forward.

Saka: 6 - Great on the ball in some areas but not in the game as much as usual.

Jesus: 8 - Lively as ever, mesmerising at times on the ball and got his goal.

SUBS:

Kiwior: 5 - A boiling game to be introduced on without playing much football with the side.

Tierney: 6 - Strong when introduced, arguably should've come on sooner.

Trossard: 5 - Wasn't a game that he could've had influence on at the point he was introduced.
