Mana Iwabuchi has departed Arsenal after the expiry of her contract in North London.

Eyebrows were raised when the Japan international was left out of her country's World Cup squad earlier this week, especially after Iwabuchi joined Arsenal's rivals Tottenham Hotspur on loan midway through the 2022/23 season in order to find some more playing time to stake her claim to be involved Down Under.

Iwabuchi joined Arsenal in May 2021, going on to play 28 games and score 6 goals. Her skill on the ball and eye for goal was there for all to see but Jonas Eidevall often struggled to accomodate the attacking midfielder in his side, leading to more time on the bench as her tenure at Arsenal went on.

Arsenal also announced yesterday that Fran Stenson had left the club after her contract came to an end. The goalkeeper was effectively fourth choice at the club and spent last season on loan at Birmingham City and then Sheffield United.
