It’s here, the game we’ve all been waiting for, as Arsenal host Manchester City at the Emirates in a top of the table clash.
The Gunners are just three points clear at the top of the table – with a game in hand – with City creeping behind in second looking to pounce on top spot.
Admittedly, Arsenal would’ve hoped to be further ahead on points going into this game, after dropping points in their previous two games against Everton and Brentford.
Mikel Arteta’s side will be looking for revenge after a dire mishap from the officials cost them two points last time out against Brentford.
It will be far from easy for Arsenal, as everyone is expecting, but now is the time for the Gunners to set the tone to the league as to why they’ve been top since August.
The last time the two sides faced, City were 1-0 victors at home in the FA Cup against a weakened Arsenal line up in a contest where the Gunners impressed.
Arsenal were having an almost immaculate season before the previous two fixtures where Arteta’s side looked a little sluggish compared to the normal standard set this season.
Tonight is the time for this young inspired side to show their worth as league leaders against an already accomplished City side governed by Pep Guardiola.
Arsenal boss Arteta has rallied the fans to get behind the team tonight speaking highly of the Gunners’ formidable home support this season.
“We’ll play with 15 players tomorrow! They are so into it with every single ball and giving us energy and support, and basically everything they have been doing. Let’s enjoy it, a beautiful night on a really special day.”
It’s time for Arsenal to show what they’re made of as they have so far this campaign.
The Gunners kick off at 19.30 this evening at the Emirates.
