EXCLUSIVE: The Gooner Fanzine understands that Newcastle United have been weighing up a £50m bid for Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney.
The Gunners defender is a firm favourite at the club after his all-action displays since joining the club in the summer of 2019.
The former Scotland left-back has earned plaudits for his commitment and passion in the red and white since signing from Celtic for £25m three years ago.
However, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is a big admirer of the Isle of Man-born backline star who will turn 25 on June 5.
With the Magpies backed by the Saudi Arabia state-run Public Investment Fund, the St James's Park outfit will have a considerable transfer kitty this summer, as Howe continues to rebuild his squad.
The former Bournemouth boss has been a long-term admirer of Tierney and has been pondering a £50m bid.
The defender has struggled with injuries at times and has yet to fully adapt to London life since movning down from Glasgow - yet, according to sources close to the player, Tierney is happy playing for Mikel Arteta, and wants to seal his place in Arsenal supporters affections by staying and challenging for silverware next season.
"Kieran wants to stay at Arsenal as he is settled at the Emirates and believes the club is going places - despite Newcastle hovering he prefers the project in North London rather than the North East," the source said.
