Arsenal Women beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 to keep the pressure on Manchester City and Chelsea at the top of the Women’s Super League.
The Gunners struggled to break down Spurs’ low block in the first half, and could have gone a goal down when Martha Thomas drew a shot from Manu Zinsberger, who then tipped Jessica Naz’s effort onto the crossbar.
An improved second half performance saw Arsenal break the deadlock in the 49th minute through Alessia Russo after Kim Little combined with Beth Mead.
Arsenal were able to hold on to claim all three points in a game of few chances at another sold-out Emirates Stadium.
Jonas Eidevall’s side will return to Meadow Park on Wednesday night to face Aston Villa in the Conti Cup semi-finals.
