Arsenal (4-2-3-1)
GK: Aaron Ramsdale - 7.5/10 - Solid without being at his absolute best - but had no chance with either goal
RB: Ben White - 7.5/10 - Diaz and Jota thereatened at times but White stayed resolute. If he doesn't make the England World Cup squad it will be good thing for Arsenal - and certainly not a reflection on his talents
CB: William Saliba - 7.5/10 - Will have learned plenty from facing such an excellent team - and he and Arsenal will be so much the better for it
CB: Gabriel - 7/10 - Not his best game but never hid as the Gunners showed real character to win this game
LB: Takehiro Tomiyasu - 7/10 - Dogged
CM: Thomas Partey - 7/10 - Not his most influential game but relished the challenge at the heart of the battle to boost his team to victory
CM: Granit Xhaka - 8/10 - Would havae brought the house down with a powerful volley that flew over. An important presence in the engine room.
RM: Bukayo Saka - 9/10 - Arsenal's two goal hero was outstanding. Absolutely outstanding.
AM: Martin Odegaard - 8/10 - Full of creativity and vision. Never stopped probing Liverpool's backline for an opportunity to free attacking colleagues
LM: Gabriel Martinelli - 9/10 - Klopp praised Martinelli after the match - and deservedly so. One goal, one assist and never let the Reds defence settle
CF: Gabriel Jesus - 7/10 - A magnificently determined performance off the ball. Never stopped hassling and harrying for the cause, even picking up a few knocks in the process. Brave and strong to go with his wonderfull talent. What a signing
SUBS:
Kieran Tierney (82' for Odegaard) - 7/10
Eddie Nketiah (90' for Jesus) - 7/10
Fabio Vieira (90' for Saka) - 7/10
