Player Ratings: Arsenal U18 2-1 (aet) Manchester City U18: Jack Wilshere's Young Guns reach FA Youth Cup final after late drama

Jack Wilshere's Arsenal reached the final of the FA Youth Cup after a dramatic end to 120 minutes of absorbing, top level academy football at the Emirates on Tuesday evening.

Myles Lewis-Skelly snatched a last-gasp extra time winner for Wilshere's Young Guns who never know when to quit.

Bradley Ibrahim floated the ball over to Lewis-Skelly, and the midfielder rose high to head just over City keeper George Murray-Jones. Cue absolute scenes as the entire Gunners bench sprinted over to celebrate with the exhausted but jubilant team and supporters.

Prior to the late drama, ten men City equalised via Justin Oboavwoduo against the run of play, after an excellent ball from Wright that split the backline for Joel Ndala to cut back, leaving Oboavwoduo to tap in to make it 1-1 with 15 mins left.

Michal Rosiak had put Arsenal ahead after 10 minutes when he scored direct from a free kick on the edge of the area, after Lakyle Samuel was sent off for City after hauling down Omari Benjamin who was through on goal.

Read on for our Gooner Fanzine Player Ratings:

Arsenal:

Noah Cooper: 7.5/10 - The Farnborough-born keeper formerly with Crystal Palace has enjoyed being part of this team's stirring cup run and was his usual unflappable self exuding confidence among his defenders with excellent positioning, save hands and good footwork

Michal Rosiak: 8/10 - The Polish-born defender was previously a midfielder prior to establishing himself in the right-back berth. You could tell from the way he fired home his early-free kick following Samuel's sending off. An excellent display

Josh Robinson: 7.5/10 - An assured display against an obdurate City side that refused to subside despite the early loss that left the visitors fighting for nearly two hours with ten men

Reuell Walters: 8/10 - A class act who has grown with maturity every round Arsenal have progressed. Has been called up to Mikel Arteta's first team squad and on this evidence you can see why. Calm and composed with an excellent temperament to match his technique and with pace to burn. Keep an eye on the Lambeth-born defender as he's got such a birght future if he keeps progressing

Lino Sousa: 8/10 - Excelled once again and the Lisbon born dynamic left-back is another who has deserved his call-up to Arteta's first team squad. Recently made his debut for England U18s and is another to watch as his performance against City was superb defensively and offensively

Bradley Ibrahim: 8/10 - Has come a long way since he was sent off in a July pre-season friendly at Hendon nine months ago. Solid and reliable the energetic former scholar has captained the side through every round of this highly-regarded tournament and can proudly say he will be leading the team in the final

Myles Lewis-Skelly: 8.5/10 - My word what drama, what scenes the schoolboy who has played every minute of every match in this tournament so far provoked through his last-gasp winner. Absolute scenes. Wonderful to see

Jimi Gower: 7/10 (Oulad M’Hand, 60 - 6/10): The technically gifted midfielder has played his part in his team reaching the final and gave his all prior to being substituted.

Amario Cozier-Duberry: 7/10 - Wasn't as influential as the skilful England U19 international has been this season, but it wasn't for lack of effort. His low centre of gravity makes him difficult to shift off the ball and his pace meant the City backline could never truly settle. What a season this attacker his having, whether it be through his five goals in the tournament so far, or his inclusion in Arteta's first team squads, including a lively cameo appearance in the pre-Christmas friendly against Juventus

Omari Benjamin: 7.5/10 (Kamara, 80 - 7/10): Threatened the City defence through his bustling play as seven-time winners Arsenal aimed to lift the trophy for the first time since 2009 - when boss Wilshere starred

Ethan Nwaneri 7.5/10 (Ferdinand, 112 (Kacurri, 12)) The Premier League starlet who made his debut for Arteta's first team at the tender age of 15 years and 181 days has grown throughout this tournament. Grabbed a goal during the 6-0 rout of Millwall at Meadow park in the first round, not to mention scoring the Young Guns opener against Cambridge in the quarter-finals and was a constant thorn in City's side with his powerful play, quick feet and intelligent play on and off the ball. Hobbled off moments before Lewis-Skelly's winner having given his all to the cause

.........

Manchester City:

George Murray-Jones 5.5/10 - Excellent save to foil Benjamin before the leveller from the former Southend United keeper. Prior to Lewis-Skelly's late winner had, incredibly, yet to concede from open play in the tournament

Lakyle Samuel: 2/10 - Left the referee no choice but to send him off early on. A disappointing night for the lad who has been at City since he was eight

Jadel Katongo: 6/10 - Kudos to the Manchester-born young defender for bolstering the backline when down to ten men

Max Alleyne: 6/10 - See above for the Bristol-born defender

Tomas Galvez: 6/10 - The former Watford academy attacking full-back hustled and worked hard

Isaiah Dada-Mascoll: 7/10 - Left on his own in midfield but was still influential. Excellent display from the ball-playing defensive pivot

Justin Oboavwoduo: 6.5/10 - A costly miss when he fired wide after a driving run when one-on-one. Scored but needed more composure when it mattered

Michael Okeke: 4/10 - Sacrificed after the red

Nico O’Reilly: 6/10 - Clever cutback for the goal from the utility U18 PL2 title winner

Joel Ndala: 6/5/10 - Fired a shot over. Played a part in the equaliser when cutting the ball back

Will Dickson: 7/10 - Helped out defensive colleagues and put in a shift

Jacob Wright: 6.5/10 - Cross resulted in City's leveller

Daniel Ogwuru: 6/10 - Boosted tired side in extra time but had no answer as City's formidable 13-match winning streak under Ben Wilkinson came to an end
