Player Ratings: Arsenal U21 1-1 Leeds United U21s Premier League 2
Arsenal U21s were held by Leeds United U21s in an absorbing Premier League 2 clash at Meadow Park on Friday evening.
A second half strike from young guns right-back Josh Robinson equalised Charlies Allen’s first half opener for the visitors.
Despite plenty of dominance Mehmet Ali’s side could not break down their obdurate opponents whose performance belied their lowly placing.

1 – Ovie Ejeheri: 7/10 – Good to see the Young Guns keeper’s distribution improve with every game even if it still demands improvement. As does his handling on crosses which also require work – albeit in difficult conditions after a heavy pre-match downpour left the Meadow Park pitch absolutely sodden
2 - Joshua Robinson: 8/10 – A great engine and showed a desire to supplement colleagues further forward by pushing up with the ball – as evidenced by his well-taken second half equaliser that beat Leeds keeper Dani van den Heuval at his near post for 1-1
3 – James Sweet (c): 7.5/10 – A mature head means the left-back is a reliable captain. Excellent at recycling the ball as well as well-timed interceptions. Also boosted attacks when the situation allowed, either by pushing forward or on the overlap, firing over from one particular first half foray
4 – Maldini Kacurri: 7/10 - Comfortable playing the ball out from the back, as befits his first name but not afraid to play it long if no other options available. Had a shot saved deep into the second half
5 – Ayden Heaven: 7/10 - A tall presence at the back with a technique but perhaps still needs work on his defensive positioning. A danger in the opponent’s box during corners
6 – Michal Rosiak: 7.5/10 - Prompted attacks from his post at the base of midfield. Blessed with excellent technique and vision as well as quick feet to ease the No6 out of trouble
7 – Amario Cozier-Duberry – 8/10 – Player of the Match. Despite the challenging conditions the intelligent No7 was always excellent at driving forward with the ball as well as offering trickery down either flank. Works so hard out of possession both offensively and defensively. With such a low centre of gravity he also possesses a good leap and can play effectively with his back to goal. Must surely be in the frame for a first team appearance before the end of this campaign.
8 – Jimi Gower: 7.5/10 - Neat and tidy in tight situations but perhaps slightly over-elaborates when faced with a genuine opportunity to shoot
9 – Nathan Butler-Oyedeji: 6.5/10 - Put in a shift as the frontman and never stopped working but perhaps not his most effective performance
10 – Ismai Oulad M-Hand – 6.5/10 - Tried a cheeky free-kick in the opening moments that narrowly flew the wrong side of Leeds keeper van den Heuval’s near post
11 – Osman Kamara – 7/10 - A lively presence down the flank while not afraid to drop deep to receive the ball while helping out the backline. Work required on his crossing from the byline but engaged in an absorbing duel with Leeds right-back Cuba Diboe at times
Substitutes:
Ismeal Kabia: 7/10 - On for Kamara with 10 minutes remaining
Henry Jeffcott: N/A - On for Josh Robinson late on
Harrison Dudziak: N/A - Switched with M’Hand
