Player Ratings: Arsenal Women 3-1 West Ham: Jordan Nobbs stars as Gunners win London derby

Arsenal Women beat West Ham 3-1 on at Meadow Park on Sunday evening.

Read Freddie Cardy's Player ratings after goals from Jordan Nobbs, Stina Blackstenius and Frida Maanum were enough to beat the vistors after Dagny Brynjarsdottir's opener.

Manu Zinsberger 7/10: Had to be alert from the early stages with Arsenal’s defence making a few sloppy errors up against West Ham’s pressing football, and made some good stops, including an excellent double save in the closing stages.

Noelle Maritz 6.5/10 - Kept her place ahead of Weinroither after a good Champions League display in midweek and her experience was important as Arsenal’s defence recovered from a shaky start.

Lotte Wubben-Moy 7/10 - Really impressed me on Thursday night at the Emirates and put in another good display this evening.

Steph Catley 6/10 - Made a dreadful mistake to gift West Ham their opening goal, her pass back to Zinsberger going past the goalkeeper onto the post before being tapped in by Brynjarsdottir. Might well have made up for that error though, delivering a beautiful set piece for Blackstenius to convert, putting Arsenal 2-1 up!

Katie McCabe 7/10 - Enjoyed the physical battle with the Irons, including former teammate Lisa Evans, on her 100th WSL appearance, and delivered an inviting cross for Maanum to score Arsenal’s third.

Lia Walti 6/10 - Held the key to counter West Ham’s press, dropping deep to help out the defence in possession.

Kim Little 5.5/10 - Had to be withdrawn in the 40th minute due to an injury that required a stretcher for the Gunners midfielder, a worrying sight.

Frida Maanum 7/10 - Enjoying a run of starts (essentially keeping Miedema out of the side) and Jonas Eidevall has proved that he has made the right call putting his faith in the young midfielder. She was in the right place to head home from Katie McCabe’s cross in the 70th minute, and was always positive on the ball.

Beth Mead 6.5/10 - Played some excellent through balls to split the West Ham defence on more than one occasion, and seemed to have no luck with the officiating against a very physical West Ham side. Came close to equalising when her powerful shot was saved superbly by Hillyerd.

Stina Blackstenius 6/10 - Finished calmly to side-foot volley Catley’s free kick past the goalkeeper to give the Gunners the lead, a well executed goal. Often won’t see much of the ball but a player of her quality will make it count when she does.

Caitlin Foord 5.5/10 - Returned to the side but struggled to make an impact on the game, eventually replaced by Hurtig.

Jordan Nobbs (Sub, 40’) 8/10 - Scored a stunner against Zurich on Thursday night and found the back of the net with just her second touch after coming on for the injured Little, smashing in the equaliser after West Ham couldn’t clear their lines from a corner! A magical player who turned the game around.

Vivienne Miedema (Sub, 71’) 6/10 - Lively with her forward runs, really working hard to try and make an impact.

Lina Hurtig (Sub, 72’) 5.5/10 - Had a difficult chance saved minutes after coming on and should have scored Arsenal’s fourth in the final seconds when her shot was saved.

Subs not used: Kaylan Marckese, Jen Beattie, Laura Wienroither, Katie Reid, Mana Iwabuchi, Michelle Agyemang.
