Player Ratings: Arsenal Women 9-0 Leeds

Arsenal Women routed Leeds Women 9-0 at Meado w Park on Sunday - read on for Freddie Cardy's Player Ratings:

Kaylan Marckese 7.5/10

Just her second appearance of the season. Was unable to enhance her goalkeeping credentials- Arsenal now have three keepers in first team contention after Sabrina D’Angelo’s signing- with Leeds not registering a single shot.

Laura Wienroither 7/10

Came back into the side for Noelle Maritz, and put in a combative display in a physical FA Cup battle.

Leah Williamson 7.5/10

Calm as ever in Arsenal’s defence, practically doing a midfielder’s job there as Arsenal mounted attack after attack. Replaced by Wubben-Moy at half time.

Jen Beattie 8.5/10

Announced her retirement from international football in the week. A handful in the box for set pieces throughout the game, delivering a bullet header for Arsenal’s fifth goal.

Steph Catley 7.5/10

Had plenty of space to operate in, constantly bombing forward down the left.

Kim Little (C) 7/10

Operated at the base of midfield with Kathrine Kuhl in a slightly more advanced role, helping to sniff out any Leeds counter-attacks. Another well taken penalty, sending Simpson the wrong way.

Kathrine Kuhl 8.5/10

The 19 year old looks to have settled in well at Meadow Park, taking her first goal nicely, before an elaborate handshake/fistbump celebration routine with new teammate Gio Queiroz. Certainly not afraid to show off her skills with the ball too.

Victoria Pelova 8/10

Lively early on in attacking midfield, delivering some pinpoint set pieces that Leeds struggled to defend. A very promising addition to Arsenal’s ranks, capping off a good afternoon with an excellent long range finish.

Gio Queiroz 7/10

Made her Gunners debut after being recalled from a loan spell at Everton earlier this month- the ideal game for the Brazilian to make her introduction.

Katie McCabe 7/10

Started amidst reports that Arsenal had turned down a surprise bid from rivals Chelsea for the Ireland international, with Arsenal fans letting her know just how they felt about the Blues with some very purposeful chanting in the warmup. Performed well on both flanks.

Caitlin Foord 8/10

Played in the middle of Arsenal’s front three. Not her finest goal of the season, but the Aussie continues to deliver in front of goal, despite being thwarted by two fantastic saves in the first half. Won Arsenal’s penalty for their third goal.

Stina Blackstenius (Sub, 45’) 8/10

Snatched at some good opportunities after coming on, but produced a poacher’s finish past Simpson to make her mark on the game, and then an exquisite backheeled flick for her second.

Lotte Wubben-Moy (Sub, 45’) 8/10

Won everything in the air and settled into the game easily alongside Beattie.

Frida Maanum (Sub, 45’) 7.5/10

No mercy shown by Jonas Eidevall at half time, introducing one of the most in-form players in both the WSL and European football. Made her mark on the game with an assist, playing a role in most of Arsenal’s second half attacks.

Lina Hurtig (Sub, 45’) 7/10

Dragged a shot wide from close range ten minutes into the second half. Powered her header into the back of the net for Arsenal’s fourth, but hit a shot out of Meadow Park in the closing stages.

Michelle Agyemang (Sub, 77’)

Took her goal superbly in a moment that the youngster will never forget.

Subs not used: Sabrina D’Angelo, Rafaelle Souza, Noelle Maritz, Katie Reid.
