Arsenal Women lost 1-0 to Chelsea at Audi Field after Sandy Baltimore’s 48th minute goal.
Player ratings:
Manu Zinsberger 5.5/10
Quick off her line and was beaten for power by Sandy Baltimore for the game’s only goal.
Katie McCabe 5.5/10
Left space in behind for Chelsea’s wingers to exploit when she ventured forward, with Johanna Rytting Kaneryd targeting Arsenal’s left side.
Steph Catley 5/10
Played alongside Leah Williamson at centre-back, a useful trial for a player who could be utilised there more this season. Should have cleared her lines before Baltimore intercepted to score.
Leah Williamson 5.5/10
Passed forward well from defence but was second best one-on-one at times.
Laura Wienroither 5.5/10
Replaced Viv Lia at right-back and was rarely tested in the first-half. Her first Arsenal start since returning from an ACL injury towards the end of last season. Missed an excellent chance in the 75th minute when the ball broke to her in the box.
Kim Little 5.5/10
The Arsenal captain kept her place in midfield but failed to deal with the cross for Baltimore’s goal.
Kyra Cooney-Cross 7/10
Dropped deep in front of the two centre-backs, providing an outlet for Williamson and Catley when they were pressed.
Caitlin Foord 6/10
Came close to scoring an ambitious effort early on and was energetic in attack. Denied by an excellent save after Chelsea goalkeeper Zecira Musovic had given the ball away.
Rosa Kafaji 7/10
Lively on the ball, turning away from her markers with ease. Arsenal’s best player on the night at Audi Field.
Kathrine Kuhl 6.5/10
Replaced Beth Mead as a precaution following the warm-up, coming in on the right-wing and performing well.
Alessia Russo 6/10
Patient upfront, working hard but for little reward. Fired a shot straight at Hannah Hamptomn with ten minutes to go.
Mariona Caldentey (Sub, 61’) 6.5/10
Came on for her first runout in Arsenal colours after leaving Barcelona in the summer. Jonas Eidevall said after the defeat that she will mostly play as a “wide forward,” but the Spain international offers plenty of versatility in attack.
Laia Codina (Sub, 61’) 6/10
Her first appearance of pre-season after playing for Spain at the Paris Olympics.
Katie Reid (Sub, 61’) 6.5/10
Played the full 90 minutes against Washington Spirit and 45 more against Chelsea in an impressive pre-season tour for the teenage defender. Strong in the tackle against Mayra Ramirez.
Frida Maanum (Sub, 61’) 6/10
Replaced Kafaji in the number ten role.
Lia Walti (Sub, 77’)
Viv Lia (Sub, 87’)
Subs not used: Naomi Williams (GK), Emily Fox, Michelle Agyemang, Laila Harbert, Maddy Earl.
