Arsenal Women have reached the second round of Champions League qualifying after Frida Maanum’s goal saw the Gunners beat Rosenborg 1-0 at Meadow Park.

Player ratings:

Manu Zinsberger 7/10

Quick off her line and steady on the ball, making the right decisions to preserve another clean sheet.

Katie McCabe 7.5/10

Played very high on the left side to create chances, sometimes leaving the defence exposed. A couple of masterful slide tackles.

Laia Codina 7/10

In her best vein of form since her arrival last summer from Barcelona, something she admitted in Friday's press conference.

Leah Williamson 7.5/10

Composed in defence and able to carry the ball forward. Felt she should have been awarded a penalty shortly after half time but her appeals were turned down.

Emily Fox 7/10

Battled well against the Rosenborg wingers, having become a firm fans favourite at Meadow Park.

Kyra Cooney-Cross 8/10

A regular starter in the double-pivot with Little now, with Victoria Pelova’s ACL injury presenting the opportunity of a big season for the former Hammarby midfielder. Maturing into her role with every game, smashing the crossbar from range in the second half.

Kim Little 7/10

Carved open the midfield but was guilty of overplaying in and around the box at times.

Mariona Caldentey 7.5/10

Arsenal’s most dangerous player early on in the game but faded in the second half. Marked tightly as Rosenborg recognised her threat.

Frida Maanum 8/10

Scored her first goal of the season to put Arsenal in front in the 19th minute, a rebound smashed past Rugile Rulyte, who denied her well from close range later in the first half. Unlucky to be substituted with 20 minutes remaining.

Caitlin Foord 7.5/10

How do you follow up from scoring four goals in one game? Foord helped to set up the opener when her cross was parried and offered a constant outlet on the right wing.

Alessia Russo 7.5/10

Hit the crossbar twice and had numerous shots saved, very unlucky not to find the net.

Stina Blackstenius (Sub, 70’)

Lia Walti (Sub, 82’)

Beth Mead (Sub, 82’)

Subs not used: Daphne van Domselaar, Naomi Williams, Lotte Wubben-Moy, Rosa Kafaji, Kathrine Kuhl, Laura Wienroither, Freya Godfrey, Michelle Agyemang, Katie Reid.
