Player ratings:
Sabrina D’Angelo 7.5/10
Made a crucial close-range save in the second half.
Steph Catley 8.5/10
On a telepathic wavelength with Caitlin Foord once again, with the two causing havoc on the left wing. Forced the own goal from Ella Powell when her low cross was deflected over Fran Bentley, and saved a goal in her own box with a brilliant recovery tackle.
Lotte Wubben-Moy 7.5/10
Made some important interceptions at the back and was excellent on the ball.
Leah Williamson 7/10
Composed alongside Wubben-Moy as Arsenal kept a clean sheet.
Emily Fox 7/10
Saw most of Arsenal’s attacking play come down the opposite flank, but nearly scored her first goal for the club with an audacious effort that was tipped over.
Kim Little 8.5/10
Constantly lively in the middle of the park, finding space to make things happen. Arsenal’s forwards will hog the headlines but Little was fantastic.
Victoria Pelova 7/10
Curled a shot onto the crossbar from the edge of the box after a well-worked corner.
Caitlin Foord 8/10
Excellent wing-play in the lead-up to Mead’s goal- an electric display, one of her best this season.
Alessia Russo 9/10
Started in the number ten role with Blackstenius leading the line, and played like she had spent her whole career there. Bent the ball into the top corner to score Arsenal’s fourth with a superb strike, and her second goal was well-taken too.
Beth Mead 8/10
Scored from close range to put Arsenal in front after six minutes, and the same again after 32 after her initial shot was blocked on the line. Tenacious on the right wing.
Stina Blackstenius 7/10
Missed a number of chances but worked hard upfront and certainly deserved a goal.
Cloe Lacasse (Sub, 62’) 6/10
Came on for Foord but didn’t really get into the game.
Katie McCabe (Sub, 62’) 7/10
Replaced Mead on the right wing and assisted Russo’s second goal.
Laura Wienroither (Sub, 80’)
Returned to action for the first time after injuring her Anterior Cruciate Ligament in May 2023, coming off the bench.
