Caitlin Foord enjoyed a night to remember at Meadow Park as the Australian forward netted a brilliant four goals to help Arsenal beat Rangers 6-0.

Alessia Russo and Kim Little found the net in a dominant display from Jonas Eidevall’s side, who will now play Rosenborg on Saturday, the winner of which progresses to round two of Champions League qualifying.

Player ratings:

Manu Zinsberger 7/10

Confident on the ball and barely tested between the sticks, not facing a shot on target.

Katie McCabe 8.5/10

Has quickly struck up a valuable partnership with Mariona Caldentey, neither of whom are afraid to get stuck into an opponent. Picked out Caitlin Foord with a superb cross for the forward’s hat-trick goal and won Kim Little’s penalty.

Laia Codina 8.5/10

Replaced Katie Reid from the Southampton game. Kept Katie Wilkinson quiet with her physicality and ability to read the game well.

Leah Williamson 8/10

Patrolled the backline and was even able to deliver some excellent crosses.

Emily Fox 7/10

Good on the ball as ever with little defending to do.

Kyra Cooney-Cross 7.5/10

Fitted the definition of a midfield terrier, working hard to shut players down and use the ball in tight spaces.

Kim Little 8/10

Glided across the pitch when she got her foot on the ball, with the talismanic Scot adding Arsenal’s fifth goal from the penalty spot late on.

Mariona Caldentey 8/10

A player who wants to take the game by the scruff of the neck, exactly what Arsenal need. Constantly wanted the ball and delivered a brilliant cross to set up Foord’s header.

Frida Maanum 7/10

Very good in possession, helping Arsenal link up midfield and the frontline. Lacks conviction when she gets into shooting positions.

Caitlin Foord 9.5/10

Found space at the back post to head home in the 16th minute and finished well in the 59th to double Arsenal’s lead. Helped out by a brilliant McCabe cross to complete her hat-trick with a brilliant volley, then scoring a tap-in on a memorable night for the Aussie. Caitlin FOU-RD, anyone?

Alessia Russo 7/10

Created space for others in forward areas and took her goal brilliantly on the hour mark before being replaced by Stina Blackstenius.

Rosa Kafaji (Sub, 71’)
