Player ratings:

Sabrina D’Angelo 8/10

Made her second consecutive WSL start after featuring in the North London Derby- Manu Zinsberger played both legs of the Champions League quarter final. Made some crucial saves in a strong performance, looks like a superb shot stopper.

Noelle Maritz 7/10

Did well against Hemp for the most part before moving to left back late in the first half to accommodate Wienroither replacing Foord, and did a similarly good job of subduing Chloe Kelly.

Lotte Wubben-Moy 5.5/10

Really struggled in the WSL defeat to February in February but was trusted today alongside Rafaelle in the centre of defence. Given a tough time by Shaw in the first half but improved in the second.

Rafaelle Souza 6/10

Should have been closer to Shaw for her goal- neither centre back tracked the City striker. Excellent on the ball.

Katie McCabe 8/10

Not close enough to Chloe Kelly to stop her cross for Shaw’s header. Booked for bouncing the ball off Kelly’s head and will be suspended for Arsenal’s next League game. From the ridiculous to the sublime, her goal will be remembered for a long time, especially considering her injury just a few days ago.

Leah Williamson 7/10

Relishes the big occasions and was influential for her side today, wearing the captain’s armband in the absence of Little. Clearly enjoyed going up against England teammate Lauren Hemp.

Lia Walti 6/10

Booked for a foul in the second half, a good combative display in a crucial midfield battle.

Frida Maanum 6.5/10

City’s midfield couldn't keep her quiet- found space in the box to score Arsenal’s equaliser, keeping calm to get the ball out from under her feet and firing it home!

Victoria Pelova 6.5/10

A hard-fought battle with City left back Laia Aleixandri. Effective with the ball at her feet but lacked support.

Caitlin Foord 5.5/10

Saw very little of the ball in the first half- has been Arsenal’s best player in recent weeks if not months.

Stina Blackstenius 5/10

Largely ineffective and was replaced by Jodie Taylor in the second half.

Laura Wienroither (Sub, 36’) 6.5/10

Kept touch-tight to Lauren Hemp and marshalled the winger superbly.

Kathrine Kuhl (Sub, 68’) 6/10

Jonas Eidevall will love being able to bring on a player like Kuhl for her energy and skill on the ball.

Jodie Taylor (Sub, 68’) 6.5/10

A willing runner in behind who was constantly shutting the ball down to do the job for her team.

Jen Beattie (Sub, 68’) 6/10

Brought on so Arsenal could switch to a back five and see out the important three points.

Subs not used: Manu Zinsberger, Kaylan Marckese, Katie Reid, Gio Queiroz.
