Find out who impressed with our Player Ratings
GK: David Raya: 7.5/10 - Poorly positioned for Fernandes free-kick but redeemed himself with a superb, last-gasp save from the United captain
RB: Jurrien Timber: 7.5/10 - Solid and hard-working while always looking to supllement colleagues further forward
CB: William Saliba: 7.5/10 - Coped easily with the underwhelming Joshua Zirkzee
CB: Gabriel: 7.5/10 - Suoerb last-gasp challenge on Alejandro Garnacho to foil a golden chance for United. Also got an important touch to prevent Hojlund slotting home
LB: Riccardo Calafiori: 7/10 - Not as influential at Old Trafford as the Italian was when replacing Myles Lewis-SKelly in the Netherlands. Replaced by MLS late on
DM: Thomas Partey: 7/10 - Effective defensively but never as commading as you would wish from a defensive midfieler - subbed for the energetic Kieran Tierney as Arteta changed his team's shape
CM: Martin Odegaard: 7/10 - A hard-working display from the Gunners captain but failed to leave his stamp on the game as he did with two goals in midweek in Eindhoven
CM: Declan Rice: 8.5/10 - A superb defensive display saw the world class midfidler foil United with a late tackle that he celebrated nearly as much as his outstadning long ragen effort to equalise. Top quality players shine on the big stage - and Rice did that offensively and defendively,. No wonder the traveling Gooners sang: "We got him half price..."
RW: Ethan Nwaneri: 6.5/10 - Not his most influrntial match but will be better for the experience on his first outing at Old Trafford
ST: Mikel Merino: 5.5/10 - Worked hard for the cause and plays well with his back to goal but simply cannot link up play, or find space in the box as a makeshirt striker
LW: Leandro Trossard: 5/10 - Anoymous
SUB:
Gabriel Martinelli (58' for Nwaneri): 7.5/10 - A lively return for the attacking Braziian bodes well for the rest of the season
Myles Lewis-Skelly (56' for Calafiori): 7/10
Kieran Tierney (71' for Partey): 7.5/10 - Offered attacking options further forward
Subs not used:
Neto (GK),
Jakub Kiwior,
Jorginho,
Raheem Sterling,
Oleksandr Zinchenko,
Ben White
