Women’s Super League

Manu Zinsberger 6/10

Given the nod over Sabrina D’Angelo, who has been playing in Arsenal’s league fixtures in recent weeks whilst Zinsberger has started in the Champions League. Made an excellent save at the start of the second half to keep her side in the game.

Laura Wienroither 5.5/10

Was the defender who was playing Parris onside in the lead up to Russo’s goal. Substituted at half time with Maritz preferred when Arsenal switched to a back five.

Lotte Wubben-Moy 6/10

Had the tricky task of defending against a very fluid and interchangeable United frontline. Used the ball well, always forward-thinking in possession, as is Rafaelle. One of Arsenal’s better players on the night.

Rafaelle Souza 5.5/10

Was a huge absence in the reverse fixture, a 3-2 win for United, and made some important blocks and tackles tonight.

Noelle Maritz 5/10

Nowhere near Parris when she ran through down the right before setting up Russo’s strike. One of many who looked more comfortable when Arsenal changed formation.

Leah Williamson

Came into midfield again to replace Kim Little, who is out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury. Went off injured herself early on in the first half- it looked like a foul from Zelem but replays revealed there was actually no contact. More to come on that situation as we get it.

Lia Walti 5.5/10

Not the 30th birthday present that she would have hoped for.

Frida Maanum 5.5/10

Made a number of good runs on the ball but just lacked the end product. Played in a deeper role after half time and was more effective.

Victoria Pelova 7/10

Dropped into the base of midfield alongside Walti after Williamson’s injury. Really tidy on the ball, covering for Williamson superbly.

Kathrine Kuhl 5/10

Started for the first time in the League in the absence of the suspended McCabe. Replaced at half time after not causing too much trouble for the United defence.

Stina Blackstenius 5/10

Used her physicality well up against Aofie Mannion and made some good diagonal runs in behind. Her finishing lacked composure- very hot and cold at the moment.

Gio Queiroz (Sub, 15’) 5/10

An earlier introduction than she would have expected but a great opportunity for the Brazilian. Improved in the second half, making some good runs when Arsenal turned the ball over.

Steph Catley (Sub, Half time) 5.5/10

Returned from injury from the bench at left wing-back and restricted Ona Battle’s presence down United’s right flank.

Jen Beattie (Sub, Half time) 5.5/10

Came on at the break as Arsenal moved to a back five. Her experience was vital as the Gunners kept United at bay in the second half.

Jodie Taylor (Sub, 72’)

Subs not used: Sabrina D’Angelo, Kaylan Marckese, Teyah Goldie, Michelle Agyemang.
