Serie A side sign Arsenal defender 

An Arsenal academy graduate has issued a moving goodbye notice following ten years with the club.

Brooke Norton-Cuffy has joined Serie A side Genoa in a permanent transfer - with the defender posting on social media confirming he will be leaving the Gunners.

The 20-year-old right-back failed to make a senior appearance for the Gunners but spent the past two seasons out on loan, including stints at Lincoln City, Rotherham United, Coventry City and Millwall, where he spent last season. 

“It’s time to say goodbye to Arsenal,” Norton-Cuffy said on Twitter, adding. “Thank you for everything.

"I’ve made so many good memories at this club and learnt a lot.

"Thanks to team-mates, coaches, fans and everyone involved in my journey. Now it’s time for a new chapter.”

It is understood the fee involved was £3.5m plus add ones for the 20-year-old is a product of the club' acclaimed youth academy system, who joined Hale End at the age of 10.

The right-sided defender spent last season on loan with the Lions, making 40 Championship appearances.

The club added in a statement: "We thank Brooke for his contribution to the club during his time with us and wish him and his family all the best for his next chapter with Genoa."
