Several Arsenal W.F.C. players headed to the FIFA Women's World Cup


The FIFA Women’s World Cup is a landmark for female football players and was brought to life back in 1991 when the American team won the first-ever tournament of the Women’s World Cup in China PR. And soon the ninth edition will take place with 16 Arsenal players headed to the event.

With the 2023 Women’s World Cup Playoffs over, Arsenal has confirmed the results which means that several Arsenal W.F.C players could be headed to the FIFA Women’s World Cup. As many as 16 Arsenal Women are headed to Australia and New Zealand for the Women’s World Cup event next summer, depending on international team selection.

Some of the Arsenal players most likely to go to the Women’s World Cup Finals include Leah Williamson (Captain) from England, as well as Beth Mead, Jordan Bobbs, and Lotte Wubben-Moy. From Norway, it’s Frida Maanum. Katie McCabe from the Republic of Ireland will also most likely be attending the Cup, as well as Kaylan Marckese from the USA. From Australia, it’s likely to be Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord. Austria failed to qualify and was in Round One of the play-offs by Scotland, who in turn was defeated by the Republic of Ireland 0-1. Rumours also suggest that experienced defender Rafaelle will be leaving Arsenal Women at the end of the season. The Women’s World Cup 2023 will be taking place from July 20th to August 20th on the International Stage in Australia and New Zealand.

Women’s football celebrated its exciting beginning back in November of 1991 when the Cup first was brought to life.
