Here we go, the teams are on the field ready for battle at the Estadio Jose Alvalade. Score predictions, Gooners?
Some may have expected to see former Gunner Hector Bellerin line-up against the Arsenal this evening, the Spaniard suffered a knee injury in training this week and doesn't feature in the Sporting squad.
Eddie Nketiah misses out with an ankle injury, Kieran Tierney is unwell, Leandro Trossard is nursing a groin injury and skipper Martin Odegaard travelled but won't feature due to illness. There was some hope that Gabriel Jesus would travel with the squad however the fixture has come marginally too soon for the Brazilian to make his return.
Another look at the Arsenal team as Jakub Kiwior is given his first start for the Gunners: Turner; Zinchenko, Kiwior, Saliba, White; Xhaka, Jorginho, Vieira; Nelson, Martinelli, Saka
Some familiar Premier League names start for Sporting this evening. Ex-Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates is in central defence, former Tottenham academy star Marcus Edwards starts, and former Wolves forward Francisco Trincao completes a strong attack for the hosts.
A strong side fielded by Mikel Arteta, with a heap of first team names lining up this evening. Reiss Nelson gets a well-earned spot in the starting 11 after his heroics at the Emirates last weekend. What do you think of the squad selection?
