Teyah Goldie featured for Arsenal Women’s U21 side during the international break as the defender nears a return from a lengthy Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury.
19-year-old Goldie played 45 minutes in a 2-0 win over Aston Villa, with Isabella Fisher scoring twice.
Arsenal academy graduate Goldie ruptured the ACL in her left leg in August 2023, having suffered the same injury to her right leg in 2022 while on loan with Watford.
Watford Women head coach Damon Lathrope exclusively revealed to the Gooner Fanzine that he tried to sign Goldie at the start of the season, before she suffered the ACL injury.
Lathrope told the Gooner in January: “Arsenal will look after her, give her the absolute best chance of coming back, maximising her potential. Like I say, I know she's got the ability and now she's got the mentality. So I'm very confident that she will come back and show everyone what she's made of.”
The centre-back’s return could hand Arsenal a boost in defence before the end of the season.
I understand Teyah Goldie played 45 minutes for Arsenal U21 against Aston Villa during the international break as the defender nears a return from injury ???
