Arsenal Women's first signing of the January transfer window has seemingly been confirmed, but in unconventional fashion.
A photo published on Arsenal FC's Getty Images feed depicts Arsenal stars Leah Williamson and Beth Mead in training at Arsenal Women's warm-weather camp in Portugal, and in the background of the shot is former North Carolina Courage defender Emily Fox, who had been strongly linked with a move to the Gunners.
As if to confirm the imminence of Fox's move to the club, the photo was swiftly removed from the Getty feed after eagle-eyed Arsenal fans noticed that Fox was hiding in plain sight in the snap of Williamson and Mead.

25-year-old Fox played all four FIFA Women's World Cup games for the USA last summer, and spent the 2023 NWSL season with the North Carolina Courage.
The right-back has been involved in talks with Arsenal since before Christmas, and is set to replace Noelle Maritz, who joined Aston Villa earlier this month.
