It’s deadline day and things have flipped overnight for Arsenal.

Football is extremely unpredictable, however if you’d have told us even yesterday that Arsenal would be in the mix to sign Jorginho we’d have probably laughed.

This is how things are looking to be as a surprise revelation yesterday evening told that the Gunners are reportedly looking at the availability of the 31-year-old Chelsea midfielder.

The thing with any transfer window is there’s no way to tell if a story is made purely of speculation or sincerity.

Arsenal have made three bids for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, who looks to be an unrealistic option for the Gunners now as the Seagulls are not opting to sell the 21-year-old.

Reports on social media last night told that Mikel Arteta is a fan of Jorginho, and the midfielder is a realistic back up should the Gunners fail to sign Caicedo.

The other news told us that Arsenal are reluctant to break down their relationship with Brighton by making another offer for Caicedo.

As a fan with no idea of how the transfer window works from the inside, I’m screaming throw everything for Caicedo this window.

Arsenal are in a position where the league title could be delivered this May, how many times have we said this in the last ten years?

Players cost an extortionate amount of money, but the finances were there for Mudryk, so investing in a 21-year-old Premier League proven midfielder should be the priority and if he’s not available, we go again for a budding talent.

I’m unsure what Jorginho could bring to Arsenal other than a body on the bench at 31-years-old and at the disposal of Chelsea who are strengthening in an utterly ridiculous fashion this window.

If we are title contenders and building something special, why go in for Jorginho, it makes no sense to me.

I’m just a fan watching on with, as mentioned, no concept of transfers and finances and player quality – but I’ve seen a lot and I’ve not been overly impressed with the deadwood Chelsea have shifted to us in the past.

I’ll support anyone that wears red and white, so what will be will be, but at this stage in the window, the vision has always been to strengthen for backup to take us over the line should results continue the way they have.
