Arsenal were too much for javi Gracia's Leeds who fell further behind two minutes into the second half when Ben White converted Gabriel Martinelli's low cross via the underside of the crossbar.
Mikel Arteta's side dominated from that moment onwards, with Jesus - recalled to the side in place of Bukayo Saka who was resrted - made it 3-0 with a cool first-time finish from Leandro Trossard's drilled cross.
Rasmus Kristensen pulled a goal back for Leeds via a heavy deflection off Oleksandr Zinchenko, but Granit Xhaka's late header from Martin Odegaard's delivery completed the scoring with six minutes remaining.
Speaking during his post-match press conference Arteta, raised a laugh among journalists, when asked if he expected Leandro Trossard to be as good as he been performing since his move from Brighton in his wildest dreams joked: "I have very wild dreams.”
