An open letter to Myles Palmer

One of our website audience lays into the Arsenal News Review legend…

An open letter to Myles Palmer

The Professor – In all good bookstores!

The more I read Arsenal News Review and the comments of Myles Palmer the more I believe he is really just Alex Ferguson in disguise. I’m not sure what the aim is for your blog, is it to inform us about up and coming jazz music or about the fact you spend far too much time and money down the bookies betting on 2.5 goals.

You were horrified by the semi final decision to leave Arshavin out but seem to have missed some key points. We actually took the game to Chelsea with the team we put out and even ran them close. With our full defence it would have been a different game.

No one has mentioned Gus Hidink’s inside knowledge of Arshavin, another reason Wenger would have doubted his impact. Also Essien marked the hell out of Gerrard in the Champions League game the week previous and Essien scares the hell out of me.

So who did sign Arshavin? Was it Wenger or the board? Or was it Wenger simply giving the board a list of players he’d like to sign and saying, “Good luck, don’t pay over the odds, the Russian is hot!” The Arsenal isn’t a club run like Real Madrid and Wenger would not stand for it.

What of Rome? What then Myles? Will you eat humble pie; will the French and African kids force you down the bookies again?

Here’s an idea, why don’t you pick a team (not Arsenal preferably) go to a game and support your f***ing team.

Best,

Ciaran Carleton

(Ed’s note – views expressed in exclusives on the website are not necessarily the view of The Gooner or onlinegooner.com. Put it another way, we find Myles uproariously entertaining, and if he ever started making us feel angry about his views, we’d simply stop reading what he has to say. Leopold Mendacious is even better though. Anyhow, we exist as a platform for the variety of opinions of Arsenal fans, and this is one such example. Not sure if Myles is actually an Arsenal fan as such though. Right of reply always stands, although if there is any response to this, chances are it will be on the ANR website.)
