Exclusive: Daphne van Domselaar remains sidelined ahead of Champions League semi-final second leg

The Arsenal goalkeeper suffered an ankle injury earlier this month

Arsenal Women goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar remains a significant doubt for the Gunners’ Champions League trip to Lyon, the Gooner Fanzine can reveal.

Sources have told the Gooner that van Domselaar did not train today (Tuesday) due to an ankle injury suffered on international duty earlier this month.

Van Domselaar injured her ankle in the closing stages of the Netherlands’ 3-1 win over Austria on April 4, missing Arsenal’s games against Leicester City and Lyon.

The goalkeeper is yet to return to training with Arsenal’s crucial Champions League semi-final second leg away to Lyon coming up on Sunday.

Experienced shot-stopper Manu Zinsberger started the Gunners’ 2-1 semi-final first leg defeat, and looks set to take on Lyon again with van Domselaar doubtful.

The Dutch goalkeeper has been pivotal for Arsenal since her summer 2024 arrival from Aston Villa, becoming first choice in goal under Renée Slegers.
