I haven't written for quite a while as I thought I would wait and see how the season would pan out. Well same old same old eh? Outmuscled, outfought, outthought. I have long defended Arsene Wenger and I still want to, but the guy is now really in danger of getting some serious flak . It's not as though we are getting any closer, we always come up against an invisible barrier now. Fourth in the league, maybe third if we're lucky and maybe a semi final, but that's it. At the business end of the season we are lacking in bottle and - let's face it - the skills required to achieve success.

A season or two ago I said all we required to get us over the line would be three quality players, maybe four. Goalkeeper, centre of defence, strong quality midfield player and a forward and we would be set fair. And what have we got? Nothing, Arshavin excluded. I now seriously think we might need six or seven players because let’s face it everyone in this squad has the stench of failure.

What is it now? Three years in a row that Wenger has told us this team will deliver next season. Are we any closer? No. Our defence has been s**t now for at least a couple of seasons, but does he go and buy a couple of quality defenders? Does he hell. I am so in agreement with the online editorial that we really need a strong second in command at this club, preferably a defender, someone who can spot the required quality we need because Sol Campbell apart Wenger can’t pick out a good defender if he fell over him. Cygan? Stepanovs? Senderos? What is Pat Rice's role in this club? He never gets his arse off the bench the whole game, he just sits there staring. He doesn't do press or media interviews. We need a strong second in command at this club, preferably an ex-Gooner, but it's not a deal breaker if it's not.

The following players HAVE to leave: Adebayor, Eboue, Denilson, Rosicky, one or both of the goalkeepers, Gallas. The salaries saved alone will buy us a new player. We have not one but two billionaires on our board, and yet here we are counting our coins from our piggy bank and raiding the biscuit tin to scrape up money to buy Arshavin. It's embarrassing.

Think I will leave this for now as my head's about to explode, or I could be writing until Xmas. One last thing. We missed out on Ronaldo and Alonso for the sake of a million or two. Now I can't stand Ronaldo either - but him or Eboue?
