Ade apologists… look away now

Shame On You Greedybayor

New City signing’s wallet is evidently in his manbag

The news that Adebayor is now officially a Manchester City player has been announced. I must say it was expected, but the fact that it is now done, and seeing the mercenary wearing the Man City shirt has provoked in me the most anger I have felt in a very long time. I have never felt that kind of anger since C***ley Cashley Cole left.

What a sad example of a modern day footballer he is. I remember saying to myself the day Cashley left, that the fans' reaction to the manner of his exit and his ensuing behaviour would be a warning to future Arsenal players who think of disrespecting the club and the fans.

Arsenal made him the player he is today. Plucking him from obscurity and giving him the chance to play along with and learn from the great Thierry Henry and the wonderfully creative Arsenal midfield. He was a donkey with no skill to speak of, just pure physicality. Wenger moulded him into one of the most feared strikers in the Premiership.

If the 2007-2008 season showed us what he could become the last season showed us what he will be. He will be an average player at a club that is stocking strikers like there is no tomorrow. None of the "big" clubs wanted him badly enough, so now he has shown his true motivation and join the Sheikhs.

One good season led him to believe he was the best and that he deserved more. It just shows what a pathetic, thick, deluded tw*t of a human being he is, lacking in any kind of intelligence both on and off the pitch.

A player who cannot understand how to beat an offside trap in so many years of football!

A player who courts Milan and Barcelona and then stays and kisses the badge!

A player who gives a TV interview complaining about the Arsenal supporters booing him.

A player who asks for time to consider a move to a "lower-level club", lest it be perceived wrongly in Africa where he is a demi-God of some kind.

A player wanting to be the highest paid player in Arsenal and demanding loyalty bonuses while leaving.

Who does this guy think he is?

What he is, is a money chasing, classless, average modern-day footballer who thinks he is the best.

I was even willing to forgive his lame behaviour before last year. The truth is he never showed any true desire or commitment on the pitch last year. So much so that I am glad that he is gone, but still I am so very angry that people like him exist.

I know anyone will take a double-your-wages offer, but I expect more from Arsenal players. Especially players who were nothing before we bought them. We give these guys a chance to play for a big club at a young age and support them through their development, not for them to up and go when they are paid more elsewhere.

It is not like he was not getting a chance to develop and moved on. He was a first team player who we supported even when he was sh*t. He has certainly not given such long and sterling service to the club (like Henry, Gilberto etc.) that he should be sent off with our respect and blessings.

While Cashley was from the academy and felt the full force of our anger, Adebayor was not and might face a lesser backlash from the fans. But I for one will show him the full force of my anger when I see him play again at the E******s.

I hope many Arsenal supporters will do the same. I hope he gets a bollocking he will never forget the next time he dares to play on the E******s pitch. We don’t need his kind to walk around thinking they can carry on without facing flak for their seriously shameful behaviour.

Finally Arsene Wenger has sent him away suggesting that he might have left because he did not feel any support from the fans. I think that is just Wenger being nice to someone he has bought and developed and has had to leave the club in a very undesirable fashion.

Wenger realised that the situation with him was beyond repair. The player had lost the desire and motivation to show some personality and prove the doubters wrong. He even suggested he won’t replace him, which shows how indispensable he thinks Adebayor is.

I sat through his pathetic displays, even sang his name on the rare occasions that he was playing well. But Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor will not be a player I will remember fondly.
