With Nasri out for six weeks at the earliest and now Eduardo missing for the opening two months of the new campaign, you hope and pray that surely it can’t get any worse. (Ed’s note – Eduardo news might be better since this was written)

Well one of those is out and how long will Rosicky last? Wenger MUST get out the chequebook now as we don’t have adequate cover. The kids can only do so much even though they are some of the most talented kids around.

What if Arshavin or RVP or even Cesc were to - God forbid - get long term injuries? Our attacking options are limited as it is, even a short term fix would do, like when we signed Davor Suker, who was with us for one season but scored some crucial, memorable goals in his time at the club. Wenger has more cash now and he doesn’t need to spend it all but with Citeh around, you never know. He needs to act quickly before our targets are gobbled up by other clubs.

Felipe Melo was a prime example, the move was 95% done until we were shafted by Fiorentina and they sold him to Juve, where you know he won’t play every week. It was the same with Barry, who in the end went for money rather than ambition. Xabi Alonso was another player that slipped from our grasp. We could have snapped him up for £15-18 million back in May, but since Real Madrid got involved, the price went up to the £30million mark.

One player who we have a very good chance of getting is Klaas Jan Huntelaar. He would be the perfect acquisition for the team and is stalling on a move to Stuttgart, who aren’t in the Champions League. He scored the first ever goal at the E******s, he would almost certainly play every week and is devastating in front of goal. He has a hell of a shot on him, like RVP. Can you imagine a frontline like that? He wouldn’t demand stupid money either so he’s there for the taking. The thing is as it’s World Cup year, it’s quite difficult to prise a player away form a club if they are already playing in their first team.

Act now Arsene, otherwise we may have to settle for players from the ‘reduced to clear’ section.
