I don’t know about the rest of you fellow Gooners, but I would welcome back PV4 with open arms. Yes he’s 33 now but just the presence of the man in the dressing room and on the training pitch would be a huge help to the youngsters. He’s a living Arsenal legend, he knows what is expected of an Arsenal player and he’s well respected. He may not play every single game but it would keep the other midfielders on their toes. Some people may see it as a step back and Wenger breaking his policy of never re-signing old players but at least he would be showing to us the fans that he is addressing the problem. We’ve never replaced Vieira and only a fool would argue that. Others have tried and failed so why not bring the man back for one last hurrah.
I was really sad to see Kolo leave, and so easily. In my mind people who join Citeh for financial ambition rather than professional. Even Yaya Toure said Kolo would be stupid to join them. What surprised me was his outburst, although it was on the cards. He seemed to forget that Wenger made him who he is today but I would love for us to win the Champions League while him and Adebayor are watching at home thinking what might have been. In my opinion Citeh will not do anything under Mark Hughes. He couldn’t control a big mouth like Craig Bellamy at Blackburn so how will he do with a whole squad of overpaid primadonnas? It is also up to us to keep them at bay.
I was really pleased for young Jack Wilshire. I thought he had a great Emirates Cup coupled with his double against Rangers, in front of Fabio Capello as well. It’s too early for him to go to South Africa in June but Euro 2012 and the 2014 World Cup are a real possibility. Imagine what he could learn from PV4 and add that to the talent he already has. It was also nice to see Rosicky get another run out. The more he plays and avoids injury the better he will be for us, but you never know with him.
Can’t wait for Everton away.
