Looking back, looking ahead and looking at the telly on a Saturday night in vain.

Gary Lineker: So Pompey v Wigan is of more interest?

First of all I'd like to say thanks to Robbie Keane for our teamtalk last week, that's all our boys needed - to be told that they had a stronger squad than ours. Unfortunately you can't play all your squad at once, although maybe that might be one way you could beat us but even then I doubt it.

I suspected by the silence coming out of the Arsenal camp all week that they were up for it and so it turned out. I waited in eager anticipation for MOTD on Saturday night and thought surely we must be first on tonight? Were we hell. Fourth on, even Pompey v Wigan was on before us.

If we had lost 0-3 at home do you think we would have been on fourth? Like hell we would. Have we upset the BBC in some way? All season they have relegated us to almost last to be shown or way down the pecking order, and still they give Man Utd (usually) top billing even though old red nose hasn't given them an interview for at least three seasons now.

Anyway we have given the Spuds 90 minutes of our time so now it's back to the serious big boy business again, aka Champions League qualification. What a great week for our club? Don't you just love them? Our kids finish their homework and go and knock Liverpool out of the League Cup. Our first teamers once again put some manners on that mob down the road, and finish the week (hopefully) by clinching our CL group and going through to the knockout stages yet again.

If we can get knock out the sloppiness that creeps into our play and strengthen our squad in January then I really think we're in with a chance of actually winning the title this season. Chelsea are the biggest threat as far as I'm concerned, Man Utd aren't the same and Liverpool are in chaos at the moment. Great times on the horizon, Gooners.
