100 Premiership goals in a season

Gunners on course for a record ton

100 Premiership goals in a season

Above average: Celebrations for the third goal at Molineux

Is it possible to achieve this from just 38 games? And could the current Arsenal squad do it? Well no one thought we could go an entire season unbeaten, so don't be foolish enough to bet against Wenger achieving anything.

The following stats may be more akin to cricket or American baseball but the scenario we currently have is as follows:

100 goals in 38 games would require an average of 2.63 goals per game.

To date we've netted 36 from 11 which is a very respectable average of 3.27 per match.

So in order to beat United's record of 97 which they achieved in 2000 we now need slam it in the net another 64 times from the remaining 27 games. This would require an average of 2.37 per game. A massive ask but not beyond our capabilities.

Although this is obviously still a mammoth task I think it's just about possible with our current crop of forwards and with the added bonus of goals coming from almost every position on the pitch. Now if Almunia could get his finger out and also notch a couple the ton could be on.

Vindaloo, vindaloo, vindaloo, vindaloo, vindaloo. We will score more goals than you. THE ARSENAL!
