Landmark edition celebrated with 80 page bumper special

The Gooner publishes its 200th issue

Front cover of the special anniversary issue

The Gooner started life in late 1987, and 22 years later, 200 issues have been published. We’ve had a lot of positive comments already about the current issue, which to celebrate reaching the milestone is an 80 page special – still at our normal cover price of £2.

We are flagging it up on the website for those who cannot attend the matches and buy it outside the stadium from our legion of sellers. It’s easy to buy online from us, right here.

The extra 32 pages are made up of a supplement entitled ‘The A to Z of The Gooner’ which gives a fascinating insight into the fanzine and its history, bringing a few memories back for our long term readers, and maybe proving something of an education for our more recent converts.

In additions – there are all our regulars, such as Talking Reds, the Highbury Spy, Mickey Cannon, the North Bank Times, Anger Management, 91st Minute, match views and Off the Post.

The other pieces featured in this bumper issue are detailed here.

A word here to emphasise that without those that contribute articles for the fanzine, we wouldn’t have got to issue 20, never mind 200. So the real credit for any praise should be directed to those good people.

So if you are going to either of the home matches against Chelsea and Stoke, sellers will be out in force to sell you with a copy. Failing that, order online from us if you don’t want to miss out. Self-promotion done for the day!
