You can make of this what you will and I'm not going to even begin to start predicting or calculating theoretical points totals, but this is essentially the position for the League games still to be played by the two prime contenders and, it has to be said, the one outsider.
ARSENAL have:
Sunderland H,
Stoke A,
Burnley H,
Hull A,
West Ham H,
Brum A,
Wolves H,
Totts A,
Wigan A,
Citeh H,
Blackburn A,
Fulham H
CHELSEA have:
Wolves A,
Citeh H,
Portsmouth A,
Hammers H,
Blackburn A,
Villa H,
Manure A,
Bolton H,
Totts A,
Stoke H,
Pool A,
Wigan H
UNITED have:
Everton A,
Hammers H,
Wolves A,
Fulham H,
Pool H,
Bolton A,
Chavs H,
Blackburn A,
Citeh A,
Totts H,
Sunderland A,
Stoke H
We have a marginally easier run-in I suspect, in theory at any rate, but much may depend upon how the European matches pan out. As in who gets a tough away league game following a European away game.
Theoretically, the Totts away and Citeh at home are our toughest matches but Stoke, Hull and Brum away will all hardly be walkovers. So many teams are involved in the relegation scrap (I make it anything up to eight clubs) or looking for a Champions League/Europa League spot nearer the top that there will be few if any easy games left for anyone. I don't think it will go to the wire - but it could do.
(Ed’s note – I’ve always found the BBC’s table predictor tool immense fun as the season gets to the business end of things. Remember you only have to fill in predictions for the teams that you are interested in – so Arsenal, Chelsea and United if you are looking in front rather than behind, and you can see where they’d end up in comparison with each other based on your predictions.)
