Benny Hill is alive and well and coaching the keepers at Arsenal

Iron Man: Sign him up

Benny Hill was a legendary comedian. I always remember those skits where everyone would run around in circles in fast forward with that distinct Benny Hill show music playing in the background. Sadly I was under the impression Benny Hill died a number of years back but I was happy to see that he has been in fact the Arsenal goalkeeping coach for the past few seasons. How else can you explain Wednesday night’s laughter! Maybe we should put Arsenal matches on Paramount Comedy between re runs of Everybody Loves Raymond and Frasier. Come to think of it any more howlers like this and I might need a real psychiatrist.

This is not the first time Fabianski has let us down, the FA Cup semi finals last year also springs to mind and he didn't cover himself in glory at Stoke. A keeper must be a priority in the summer especially now it seems Chamakh will come on a free. The only problem is - as pointed out on podcasts - we have three keepers, all below average, on long term contracts that no other club will take on.

I have no anger left to vent at our lack of goalkeeping cover. It has come to a point where if I don't make humour then the frustration might just engulf me and I could turn into The Hulk - the green one not the Porto forward. Come to think of it, as we need a new keeper, how about Spiderman - agile, quick and considering he can walk up walls perhaps the ball will stick to his hands. We could do with Iron Man to add some steel in our defence and how about The Fantastic Four's Human Torch to provide the much needed firepower up front!

The editor has pointed out previously on the site and in the excellent Gooner podcast 44 that Wenger's reign is resembling the latter days of his Monaco reign. I beg to differ, I think we look more like Kevin Keegan's Newcastle from 1996-1998. For one moment I thought Le Boss was going to give an "I would just love it” rant after the Porto defeat. The second goal was fine in terms of legality, if we had done it we would be praising the genius of Fabregas or... actually he would be the only one capable of such quick thinking from the team that played there.

Speaking of Fabregas he looked absolutely fed up, his body language as well as his comments after the game told the story. Our passing was laboured toward the end and we looked very tired, which was strange as we had not played on Saturday. I do believe we will beat Porto at home as they aren't the best travellers, but even if we do I can see us getting soundly beaten in the quarters or semis to one of the better teams remaining.

Oh well we play an out of form ‘Sundlund’ on Saturday, three points will be a nice tonic, with Man Utd at Everton who to be fair were lucky to win 3-2 in Milan on the first half showing perhaps we can have something to cheer about. Or as Stan Lee of Marvel Comics would say "Keep dreaming true believers..." Quite.
