The onlonegooner has received what appears to be an exclusive report from one of our regular readers who we regard as a very reliable source. We can't mention his name because to reveal it would lead to certain complications. But suffice it to say Gooner X and his girlfriend just happened to be having a meal in the 'Tonto de Abril' Spanish restaurant in Southgate, North London fairly late yesterday evening (Wednesday 31st March).

At a table fairly adjacent to Gooner X and his lady a certain Harry Redknapp was noted to be deep in conversation with Sky Andrews who of course has acted for a number of players in the past, including a certain ex-England international defender. Only a few snippets of the conversation were overheard but these included the following phrases from the Twitcher: 'Would certainly be a really difficult one to convince the punters', 'I dunno if we could pull it off', 'I'd love him to return to the Lane, absolutely love it, what with all our defensive crocks and what not' and 'I'm sure we could get Daniel to meet the price'. And from Sky Andrews 'Seriously out of pocket following the Pompey farce', 'He'd certainly pull in the punters - if only to throw rocks' and 'the massive publicity of snatching him back might just do it'.

We're saying nothing but do feel free to draw your own conclusions. We at Gooner Towers certainly didn't see that one coming.
