(Ed’s note – Okay, got this request to help out with an appeal for a Japanese TV company, and as I have a soft spot for all things Japanese and had a great trip there for the 2002 World Cup, I’m Mr Nice Guy today. If you don’t know who Brian Glanville is, then this probably isn’t for you. But anyway, here goes with the text of the email received…)
I'm emailing on behalf of a Japanese TV production company called Movie On Line, who are making a documentary for NHK (the Japanese state TV network equivalent to our BBC) about the soccer journalist Brian Glanville.
One scene the director Mr Komura would like to shoot is an interview with 4 or 5 keen Arsenal fans at a pub near the stadium to talk about Arsenal and also if possible Brian Glanville. We'd need to do it starting at about 11.30 this coming Saturday, April 24th, 2010. I realize the Arsenal match kick-off isn't until 17.30 that afternoon, but unfortunately we've got a filming commitment that afternoon, so 11.30 till about 13.00 would be the only time slot we could do it in. Do you think you might be able to help us? If 4 or 5 keen Arsenal fans would be prepared to come along & talk to us about the club and hopefully Brian Glanville, that would be great. I can be reached on email at [email protected]
So there you have it. Chances are there a couple of pints in it for you, if nothing else. Email Jim if you want to take part. Maybe you’ve read one of Brian’s Arsenal books or his column in World Soccer and have an opinion about the man.
