It's been a struggle to care about the game tomorrow, coming as it does at the end of the Bank Holiday weekend and a disappointing spell of form. It holds very little importance in the grand scheme of things. Of course, it's always preferred to see an Arsenal win, but what else is riding on the long trip up north, other than the point needed to secure third place and St Totteringham's day? But then I remember this beast:
The odious, Arsenal hating, masticating, obnoxious, thug approving mug.
I don't like him, as you gather, but I do like the fact that he hates us just as much as we him, perhaps even more so when you consider his overall insignificance to Arsenal. Which makes me smile, until we come up against him chewing and spitting on the sideline, urging his 'players' to get about ours.
He is a monster with such a delusional sense of grandeur that he believes he should be the current England manager. That from a man who's tactical nous has seen his teams kick ours all over the place every time we have come up against them, most famously at the hole of Reebok Stadium where we threw away our title hopes 2003.
A buffoon who failed his crack at a big job with Newcastle United and started their decline into Championship football. He is a slob whose character and 'football' beliefs have seen him ensure that, on taking the Blackburn job, he brought along his adopted son El Hadji Diouf, to perfectly represents himself on the pitch. For more on this, you can read my article for Mirror Football on El Hadji.
So now I do care about Monday. I love how he hates us, and how Arsene gets under his skin. I want our players to see him on the sideline and be inspired to put eight past them, gliding past every two footed lunge that comes their way and dodging every bit of spittle that emanates from Diouf and 'Big' Sam.
Van Persie will be up for it, he'll have remembered all the kicks he has received as a result of Allardyce instructions. So, as Goonerholic suggests, get on the Dutchman to grab his first returning goals and hope that the cretin has even more reason to hate the Arsenal come Monday night, as we sit secured in third place with Spurs again looking up.
