It’s in the stars (even if there aren’t so many these days in London N5)

Song: Next season looking distinctly dodgy

I’m AstroGooner - an astrologer and big Arsenal fan.

Here are some of my thoughts for Arsenal in 2010-2011. It’s a bit early to be totally sure, but these are current indications:

Although Arsenal need several big new signings, the indications are that Arsene Wenger is unlikely to go on a big spend this summer. AstroGooner thinks he will probably sign two players – possibly three (this doesn’t include any swaps or deals which involve other players). Buffon is a possibility – if it happens it will be sorted on or before the end of June, but negotiations for Chamakh are going to be more difficult than Wenger thinks.

AstroGooner is sorry to say that there is a question mark over Alex Song for the 2010 – 2011 season with Arsenal. He may not have a good season – possibly through injury, or other factors – this is unclear at the moment.

Arsenal won’t win the FA Cup next season. The Carling Cup is possible. Arsenal won’t win the Premiership next season, but will stay in the top four – third place is looking likely again.

2010-2011 will probably be AW’s final season with Arsenal. By 2011-2012, Arsenal will have a new manager.

I am working on a list of players and the sort of season they might have in 2010-2011.

(Ed’s note, I replied to Astrogooner’s email, asking, ‘Is cesc going to Barcelona this summer or not!’. Astrogooner responded, ’I was looking at the Cesc situation last week and it seemed that it was over for Cesc and Arsenal. However, there are indications of a change of heart by someone, somewhere along the line, which has confused me. But I think he will go.’)
