Wee Alex and his Baggy Shorts

Alex James - Life of a Football Legend

As we all consider what life might be like without one midfield genius, we thought we’d try and cheer Gooners up by giving away copies of a new book about another, Wee Alex James. Described by people who saw him as one of the all-time greats, James was the creative hub of the classic Arsenal team in the 1930’s, easily recognisable by his baggy shorts and flapping shirt sleeves.

In this lively biography, author John Harding has drawn on the recollections of men and women who knew James well, both on and off the pitch, as well as writers and journalists down the years, to vividly recreate the life and times of a remarkable man and one of the greatest players in the history of the game.

We have three copies of the book to give away courtesy of the publishers DB Publishing and all you have to do to be in with a chance is send us an email to [email protected] with your name, address and the correct answer to the following question:

In which year did James help Arsenal win the FA Cup for the first time?

Closing Date for entries is 31st May.

If you can’t wait that long, copies of the book are also available directly from the publishers - www.dbpublishing.co.uk – where Gooners can get a £2 discount and free p&p by entering the code GOONER at the checkout.
