The World Cup? Pah! Who’s interested? The really big event this Friday is the return to the stage of the Riders of the Night, the most notorious band of ageing Arsenal supporters who were actually around in punk’s heyday.

Now in truth, I will actually be attending the France v Uruguay match in the flesh, part of a World Cup trip that I will relay when I get the chance on these very pages. So. I’ve made my choice, but the tickets were booked long before the Riders gig was scheduled. Otherwise I would doubtless have been at the Purple Turtle in Camden’s Crowndale Road this Friday from 7pm. The Bollock Brothers are the headline act.
